Description
The dots used in the hat, the octagonal shape and the face itself all cast doubt on the authenticity of this plate.
Attributions and reviews
The plate was made by a pupil according to Seidlitz and Campbell Dodgson.
NH and Münz think that the plate was etched by Rembrandt and later worked over by Van Vliet.
The plate is not by Rembrandt according to Coppier, Michel and Singer.
